Toughest Job in the Marines....

I had to post this poem in honor of our hard working military wives. I of course have to give a shout out to my Hardest working Marine, my hubby! Being a marine wife is no joke and I hope when you read this poem you get inspired!

We would like to recognize these often underestimated, unseen, and unheard heroes.

This is for the young women that are waking up at 6 a.m. every
morning, laying out clothes and packing three lunches for those
small precious children that they have been left alone to care for.

This is for the pregnant Military wife wondering if her husband will make it home in time to watch their miracle happen.

This is for the childless Military wife, living in a town or on a
base alone where she is a complete stranger to her surroundings.

This is for the women that feel like a third leg when they go out
with their friends and their husbands.

This is for the Military wife that canceled all her plans to wait by the phone, and even though the phone broke up and cut off every time you spoke to him you waited anyway.

This is a pledge to the women that cry themselves to
sleep in an empty bed.

This is to recognize the woman that felt like she was dying inside
when he said he had to go, but smiled for him anyway.

This is for those of you that are faithfully in that
long line at the post office once a month, handling 2 large boxes
and 2 small children like a pro.

This is for that woman that decided to remodel the house to pass
time, and then realized that she had no idea what she was doing and sighed and wished she had a little help.

This is for all the lonely nights, all the one-person dinners, and
all of the wondering thoughts because you haven't heard from him in days. This is for the sad Military wives, the angry Military wives, and the strong Military wives.

A toast to you for falling apart, and putting yourselves back
together. Because a pay check isn't enough, a body pillow in your
bed is no consolation, and a web cam can never compare.

This is for all of you no matter how easy or hard this was for you.Our soldiers/sailors are brave, but so are we.

So the next time someone tells you that they would never marry a Military guy, don't bother explaining to them that you can't control who you fall in love with. Just think of this and
nod your head, know that you are the stronger woman.

Hold your heads up high, hang that flag in your front yard, stick
100 magnets on your car, and then give yourself a pat on the back.

Be proud to be the woman that you are, be proud to
be a Military wife!

10 reasons why God made women.... (Part 2)

Since the last post of me talking about being ignored and feeling like chopped liver....I came across this list while cleaning up of 10 reasons why God made women and after reading this I felt confident and ready to conquer the world!

10 reasons why God made women:

1) To Be a Female
(genesis 1:27, Matther 19:4, Mark 10:6)
2) To be a Helpmate
(Genesis 2:18)
3) To be an example
(proverbs 31:10-31)
4) To be a mother
( Genesis 3:16)
5) To be a character builder
(proverbs 22:6)
6) To be loved
(Ephesians 5:25)
7) To be glorified
(1 corinthians 11:7)
8) To add grace & beauty
(1 peter 3:3-5)
9) To be an inspiration
(Job 32:8)
10) To be a channel of Redemption
(Isaiah 7:14)

God is good! and there's nothing like a good pick me up to help in doing what God has created me and you to do.

If you like this or not comment below!

Little sacrifices that make a BIG difference! (Part 1)

So while I'm getting the kids ready for bed, telling them to take their sleeping clothes out, get ready for a bath, don't forget your underwear (I Know!), and finally putting them to bed... In this process my son walks past me and gives my husband a kiss telling him good night and I said: "Aaron...what about mommy?!" while walking away he says: "good night mommy!"

Now... I can't say that my feelings wasn't a little bruised...it was! but after thinking about it, My kids haven't seen their daddy in months. He just came back from a 6 month deployment from Afghanistan and the kids are happy to have him back. My sweet daughter came over and gave us both a kiss good night, but (a joke that I like to tell...)
when daddy's home... mommy is chopped liver!

Below is some of our home coming pictures a photographer named Rachel from Momentary Photography who came down from Charleston, SC (click the link for more information on her business) and took photos of us from a military program called: Operation Love Reunited It is a program that offers FREE professional photography sessions to military families and members who are getting ready to deploy, who are currently deployed, or those who are coming home. click the link for more information!

SOOO happy to have his daddy back!

So its moments like this where I don't mind being ignored, I don't mind the sleepiest nights when they have colds or sick, the hard moments where they really miss daddy and they just need to hear his voice, moments where I am the only one that understand how they feel...I don't mind the little sacrifices I make for this moment of when he is COMING HOME... it makes a HUGE difference in the end! In seeing the wild hair and huge smiles, makes it ALL worth it!

Stay tuned for part 2!

First day of school adventure.....

My kids started school this Monday, They are 1st graders! I was very excited and my kids were looking forward to their first day of school! I saw other kids with their new uniforms, freshly new hair dos, new book bags, new shoes, etc. Also there were parents taking pictures of their kids going to class...including my husband and I.

Here are pictures of my son and daughter first day of school:

Layla in her new class cheesin!

Aaron in his new class, reading a book with his new friend!

After my husband and I dropped them off to school, thinking they were going to have a great day, Little did we know, the kids were going to have an adventurous day! When I came home, I was looking forward to stories of what they did in their new class and what they learned, etc.

My husband began to laugh and tell me what happen when he went to go pick them up. My husband got off work early to go and get the kids from school, usually when school is out each class come out one at a time with their school age group. So my husband saw my daughter in line with her class and picked her up, and precessed to look for my son and saw that he was not there! The teachers lost my son!

(Now EVERY parent worst nightmare to see their child is not where there suppose to be!)

Now he was suppose to get picked up by my husband or I. They are what the school consider a car rider, and not ride the bus and the teachers know that. They began to explain that some how he was put on the wrong bus and he was on his way back. My husband being Very understanding began to tell them that: as long as his son was not REALLY lost, and they found him, everything was ok, he began to explain that it was the first day of school and things can get crazy during school, everything was fine. The teacher immediately began to apologize to him over and over again for the misunderstanding, he was very nice about it!

I began to laugh and kind of brushed it off but situations like that are not funny! I laughed it off because in my case things worked out. In other situations it didn't and I pray that God work their situations out! I had friends tell me they would have flipped out and I thought about it, what is flipping out and/or acting like a "donkey" going to accomplish? Its not going to magically bring my son back, its not going to fixed the situation, it would only make it worst! So in my case that was not a "flipping out", acting like a "donkey" moment! and I pray that I won't have to get to that point!

What do you think? Follow and leave a comment below! Tell me your first day of school stories, opinions about what you would do in that situation.

A little bit about me...

This is Me and my husband after coming back from Afghanistan this year! Our twins Layla and Aaron both 6 years old.  A little bit about me and my family. My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years. He has 3 children from a previous relationship, we adopted 1 and had twins together. The other 4 lives in Florida. I know I'm putting a lot out there but this is my life and my life is an open book, to help anyone that may be in the same boat as me!

Anyway I have a business degree, in the mean time I work at a day care center on base in Beaufort, SC. My desire is to stay at home with my children and work on my business full time. I have a small business called: Silk Spa Creations  It is an Eco-friendly bath & body product company. Our products are Unique massage oil candles, (that melt into a pool of oil for your skin!) 100% Organic brown sugar scrub, Creamy Body Butter, and coming soon...An edible lip balm! Check me out when you get a chance! But my business is not what this blog is about, this is about me and my life and the things I'm interested in!

So in the mean time I work full time and we are very active in church. My husband and I are on Fire, Christians, doing the work for the lord and loving every minute of it! We go to Love House Ministries in Beaufort, SC, where our pastor is Randy Roberts.

Here is a video about my church:

So more to come soon...Stay tuned for more!
