The Deployment Dare!
OK! so I came across this website from someones face book page, while browsing around, (sorry not sure who it was) talking about things to do while your hubby is deployed.... Someone suggested doing a Deployment Dare! I thought it sounded fun, and so I looked it up and came across this website called: Excellent Praise Worthy They give EXCELLENT biblical information for marriage, military, info on being a Godly wife, which is awesome! Just looking through the website is great! So when you click on the link there, it will take you straight to the website.
So it goes like this: If you have done the LOVE Dare, the Deployment Dare is similar, every day for 40 days is a day that is biblical advice toward strengthening your marriage while your spouse is away!
For example (From the website): Day 1: (During the deployment "LOVE is patient") : Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. — Ephesians 4:2 So here’s the dare as quoted from the book: “The first part of this dare is fairly simple. Although love is communicated in a number of ways, our words often reflect the condition of our heart. For the next day, resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptation arises, choose not to say anything. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.” (p. 4)
Here’s how you can accomplish this dare during deployment: In email, phone, or letter—do not say or write anything critical or negative. Even if you are on the receiving end of a verbal attack, choose to be positive or quiet. Easier said than done? You bet—and that’s the challenge of it. But if for one day you can choose to demonstrate patience in your communications I believe that God will reward that act of obedience.
So that is just a sample of what the website has for the deployment dare! If anyone out there has tried or plan on trying it please let me know, if you have a blog and you wrote about it, comment below and tell me about it, leave the link so I can read about it, Because I would like to try this out when my hubby leaves and I want to know how it worked out for you. I will be blogging about it when the time comes so look out for that! I hope this information was helpful to you!
Be Blessed!
